Meet Paul Hancock, The Leadership Our City Needs

Public Service

Led a community effort to petition the Alpine School District Board to expedite the building of a local elementary school, Traverse Mountain Elementary. The school opened its doors with 600 students in 2010 when the construction would otherwise have started no earlier than 2012. Paul served on the District Community Council (DCC), working with local schools and engaging with the Alpine School District Board on a monthly basis. Paul served as precinct chair for LE20 as well as serving as State and County Delegate. As a precinct chair, he coordinated a debate for the newly formed LD6 state representative candidates.

Community Service

Founding member of the Traverse Mountain Trails Association (TMTA) and actively engaged on the TMTA board. Actively involved in my local church and children’s school. I have coached one or more youth sports teams every year since my oldest son could start participating, at one point coaching all four of my children’s teams. I obtained the rank of an Eagle Scout and have been a lifelong supporter of the Boy Scouts.

Professional

Worked for Intel Corporation in American Fork, Arizona, and then back in Riverton for 7 years. After leaving Intel and working for Boart Longyear for a year I was an original founder of the company Taurus Drilling. Started in October 2007, specializing in underground production drilling. Currently works for Domo as a Customer Success Consultant. Having worked for multiple technology companies (Intel, Workfront, Domo) and having the experience of a successful entrepreneur I bring a broad business background that can add tremendous value as Lehi looks to grow its business footprint taking advantage of our prime location.

Education

Babson College (MBA) – 2005
Brigham Young University (MaCC – Tax Specialty) – 2000
Brigham Young University (B.S. in Accounting) – 1999

Personal

Married to Cindy Hancock. We are the proud parents of four children. My wife and I chose to settle in Lehi in 2006 because we wanted to raise our children in a community that appreciated the values that we grew up with. At the time we moved here our oldest child was in 1st grade and last year our youngest graduated from Skyridge Highschool!
